‘Hand in my Pocket.’

OK, look, I liked Jagged Little Pill, all right?  It didn’t suck as an album. And, yes, I’m incredibly defensive about feeling this way.

  1. I liked it much better before I had to wrap my mind around Uncle Joey from Full House taking advantage of her as a young woman being the cause of all the bitterness in the album.

  2. I was gonna say, I always rather liked it myself, and anyone who has something negative to say about my musical tastes can… do stuff you’d rather I not specify here 😀

  3. It’s a good album. I only find it a shame that she pulled a Boston– one really good album that reached heights she never got to again on subsequent albums.

  4. I would second what Finrod said. I played the heck out of this CD when it first came out but haven’t really listened to it in years. It’s funny you posted this video, because for the first time in ages I listened to the album from start to finish a couple of weeks ago on a long drive home. It still is a good listen, but with the benefit of some time and distance from 1994, what struck me was how dated it sounds. Sort of dark and angst-ridden, it was definitely a product of its time. Hard to believe it was 22 years ago and Bubba was still in his first couple of years in the White House. Seems like the other day. Lord but I’m getting old, fat, cranky and looking and sounding more like my old man every day. 😀

  5. Musically, it’s quite good in parts, and not bad in others.

That said, I will not be forgiving her for her role in launching the “angsty rock” phase.

  6. Let’s just all go over and listen to Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats.

    Happy angst.
