Ghostbusters: Ecto Force is the name of the (animated) show; and it is apparently going to be set in the near future, where it will finally realize Peter Venkman’s dream of having Ghostbuster franchises in metropolitan areas throughout the globe. Ivan Reitman to direct, which is good to hear, no matter where you stand on the current Ghostbusters situation*. Of course, it must be kind of nerve-wracking, working on a project where you’re more or less inviting people to compare your product to The Real Ghostbusters** – but then, nobody forced them to do a new Ghostbusters series, did they?
Anyway: coming out in 2018.

*I am still willing to give the new movie a shot. Preliminary reports suggest that the trailers were rather worse than the film itself; and I looked up the cast on IMDB and was fairly impressed with the leads’ acting credentials. I’m a fair-minded man; I’ll give ’em a chance to wow me.
**Be very, very careful when ordering the box set. There’s a fifty-buck version that pulls episodes from each season, but not ALL the episodes. And yes, people screamed about that.
