I think it’s hysterical. You may not, but I’m just back from having a couple of beers in a bar while talking with my wife about baseball, so there’s that. Heck, she’ll probably find it just as funny, too.

Years ago I played a PBM video game called Stars!. I once used a variety of this trick–all my ship names were commas and periods, or maybe back- and forward-quotes, because they were hard to distinguish in the font used.
