This was the Stary Olsa concert in Laurel. Lots of fun. Tried to get some closeups of the garb.
…I took a couple of videos of the Stary Olsa concert yesterday (they were cool with that): now I’m teaching myself how to upload videos again. It’s been a while. A bit too long for my video software, apparently: it’s had two updates and the company that made it got sold to another one in the intervening time. I should pay more attention to this sort of thing. I’ll update the post once it’s done processing.

John Carter was a good movie, dagnabbit. I read the Barsoom books, double dagnabbit. They were not insulted by this film! ERB would have loved every second of it.

…mostly of the ‘funny old world’ category. I was able to go to a concert tonight because the Belarusian band Stary Olsa put together a Kickstarter that not only paid for a new album; it allowed them to tour in the USA this summer and fall. The world gets smaller every year – and thank God for that, huh?
Mind you, Belarus is a totalitarian hot mess, so progress is, as they say, uneven.
Supposed to be yesterday, but there were last-minute scheduling complications. Fortunately, there’s another concert in my area tonight. Seriously, this was a stroke of luck.
So, I’ll let you know how it was.
Full-Contact Wellness Care (17pt)
This is absolutely, explicitly, and without a doubt a cinematic style. Full-Contact Wellness Care was invented by an eccentric martial arts master who also happened to be a physician: it takes pressure point and chi flow theories to their logical conclusion by seeking to manipulate a patient’s health via the use of precise applications of kinetic energy. The style is a jumbled mishmash of various esoteric and mundane theories on physiology, but you can use it to kick kidney stones out of a patient’s body without lasting harm and/or permanent pain, so who cares?
Note that all legitimate practitioners of Full-Contact Wellness Care swear to follow the Hippocratic Oath. In the original Greek. Illegitimate practitioners typically buy a few points in Poison and don’t bother holding back on their attacks.
