So apparently I can’t watch *good* movies on the treadmill.

The better the movie or show, the less I like it while exercising.  But I’m halfway through Death Race 2050 at this point and I’m apparently OK with that*.  Kind of weird, really – especially since I can read pretty much anything and still be fine. Then again, I’ve long since taught myself to read anywhere and at any time.

I suspect that I won’t want to watch merely bad films, though. I am going to need the Cheese.  All of the Movie Cheese.

*My God, but it’s absolutely dumb. The good kind of dumb, which comes when you actually have an artistic vision and attempt to fulfill it. I’m never going to watch it again and I think Roger Corman’s more than a bit of an ass, but am I not entertained?  …Yes. Yes, I am.

  1. The good news is there’s a *LOT* of old cheese available ..

The MST3K stuff on Amazon Prime is .. not bad. Not having a Roku, I guess I have to ask .. is there a Prime Video applet for it?

      1. ‘s not a lot of MST3K on Prime, but .. enough.

Also, it’s Prime, so the free stuff rotates somewhat slower’n I’d like.

What I like is I’m paying for Prime anyway because christmas and birthday presents for over a dozen nieces and nephews .. free shipping pays for itself *IF* you’re smart .. so my “there’s nothing on, let’s go stream [something]” is gratis.

      2. There about about 30-ish Rifftrax titles as well on Amazon. I’d recommend Guy from Harlem, The Magic Sword, Icebreaker, The Devil’s Hand, Supersonic Man and (sigh) Stone Cold as well, although you might not want to view that last one in public or near the kiddies. if I remember it correctly.

(For the unaware, Rifftrax was the post-MST3k riffing project from the later seasons MST3k cast.)

  2. Back in the day my husband had what we called “rowing movies” — movies he would watch while he exercised on his rowing machine. They could NOT have intricate plots. But instead featured a lot of blowing up stuff and fighting.

  3. Assuming you’re hooked up to the internet, how about music videos on youtube? Short, can be strung together for a mood, not particularly complicated.
