So now it is time for the inevitable question…

Mass Effect: Andromeda DLC?

Yeah, yeah, I’m only on Planet #4 and I’m already asking that question.  I’m pretty sure that we’re not going to be getting new companions, if only because there isn’t a space for any in the Squad screen.  Looks like we’re back to a Mass Effect 1 ethos, which is hardly a surprise to anybody who’s played Andromeda for long. The entire dang game is a return to those days of yore, only now with jet-packs and no elevator ride conversations.

But we should see multiplayer supported in a big way, and maybe some mission packs.  There is, by the way, no level cap in Mass Effect: Andromeda.  You just run out of things to buy with points. Which means that you can have a big, sprawling mini-campaign DLC or two to go with the big, sprawling existing campaign and it won’t be as pointless* to people who have already finished the game. Also, probably some weapons/armor sets. Those are always popular.

…Actually, if this doesn’t come up in the main game I want a DLC where news comes over the pipe over what the heck happened in the Milky Way after the Pathfinder left.  You’d have to import your save, of course, but I have the relevant save files in a safe place, don’t you worry…

*’Pointless’ is a relative term. My Shepard was maxed-out when Mass Effect 3’s Citadel DLC came out, and I squeezed every single drop out of that DLC that I could, because it was just so endlessly good. All of it. Even the bit with the chin-ups.
