Come, I will conceal nothing from you: I was not really all that thrilled with Spaceballs to begin with. I know, I know, rank heresy for a proper geek.  Everybody I know quotes from that movie, starting with my wife.  But I would hope that even fans of the movie might be just the slightest bit apprehensive about a sequel. There are so, so many ways it could go wrong…

  1. To be fair, Mel Brooks was honest about just what a second Spaceballs movie would be right from the start.

  2. Per IMDB, there was an animated series, several years ago.
    .
    I haven’t watched it, but a) the reviews are not encouraging and b) that nobody seems to have heard of it is probably another indicator of its quality.

    Some things should be let sleep.
