HOT DAMN! The Torg Eternity Kickstarter is live.

I’ve been waiting for this one. I was starting to wonder if we’d ever see Torg Eternity.  But here it is:

Went up today, and already past $115K.  The Internet more or less poured money into it.

  1. Holy Smoke!

    $120k pledged of a $8,000 goal?
They’re already into their 6th tier of stretch goals!

  2. Great. (Checks Kickstarter) Right now the robot squad fighting game Aegis is just about to end, the Kickstarter for the new Zombicide set launched yesterday, Ben Dunn has another phone book sized TPB for his comic up right now, and while not a Kickstarter, Modiphius should be announcing preorders for their limited “Star Trek RPG in the deluxe box that looks like a borg cube” set. And now this. Ugh, you’re killing me, Smalls.

For actual game talk- Interesting that Tharkhold got brevetted to full realm this time. Then again, with the Architects of the Flesh having gone AWOL in Feng Shui, I guess they do have the monopoly of cyber demons now. Well, ignoring Doom. Also not quite sure of moving Orrosh over to where it is now. Indonesia was such a unique place to set adventures, especially when overlaid with the Victorian Orrosh realm. Now, oh a former colony is British again. Huzzah. If we’re moving things, why not shake things up and move horror to Japan and the high tech realm down to Indonesia?

Oh well. Off to find some stuff to ebay to raise funds, I guess.

    1. Putting Victorian British in Japan could cause problems, especially given that Japan was one of the few countries to largely keep out the Europeans during the Colonial era. And trying to run the realm without the Victorian British would cause problems among the fans – both from those who genuinely liked elements of the original, and those who wouldn’t be happy because “You changed it, now it sucks!”

Plus, well, “Corporate Japan takes over the world” was a thing back when TORG was first released. It’s much less likely these days. But it’s still probably the best place in the world to go to for that sort of story idea.

      Other bits –

It looks like they’re leaving out the “not exactly bad guys” group that showed up in South America late in the game, along with a transmissible hive mind zombie virus.
Tharkold is presumably the dark grey area on the map that’s now located in Russia instead of Berlin (and Los Angeles).
Based on the miniatures, the head of the Japan realm (now called Pan-Pacifica) is married this time (or has a sister).
Also based on the miniatures, the human Jezreal didn’t usurp Kranod in this version of the setting.

  3. Oh, and yay. More red & blue dice. My old Chessex Section 8 speckled are getting up there in years.
