From the Heights to the Depths: the early Mummy reviews are unpromising.

A 26% on Rotten Tomatoes is a bit alarming.  I mean, I’m still going to go see The Mummy: I bought a ticket and everything. But I’m not gonna lie; that’s a bad buzz, going in. Especially since I want to see all the old Universal horror characters get brought back; the state of the art in special effects has improved so much since the old days.

Ach, well. Maybe it won’t suck.

  1. It may be an unpopular opinion but I want this one to bomb… and the rest of the Universal Monsters reboots too.

There are cracklin’ good reads to tell with these creatures, but Hollywood can’t *comprehend* them. They need to option the “Monster Hunter” universe, the Ringo pieces are almost written to be filmed.. Larry Correia’s are a little more in-the-head so would need contrxtualizing…
    .
For that matter, Ryk Spoor’s “Wood & Stake” would make a fun series… but can’t be done while Universal are doing beautiful CGI around worn out and weak storylines.

    Let it all burn…

    1. I will admit a bit more sympathy for this notion after catching up on MHI, but I’m still hoping the film tomorrow doesn’t suck. 🙂
