Comparing the old and the new DuckTales intros.

It’s not… awful. They seem to be using the same characters, the animation doesn’t make them look drastically like the originals, and obviously they didn’t come up with a new theme song. I think that this one is going to be doing supernatural stories more often, or maybe ‘Weird Tales:’ there’s slightly less of a pulp adventure vibe going on here, but it’s been a while since I watched the show. I may not be remembering things correctly.

Things could be worse.

  1. From what I’ve heard, they’re being more faithful to the original Carl Barks stories than the first cartoon was, and that Don Rosa’s The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck is required reading for new crew members.
