Angel of Trains: Georges gets 2 Essence from driving a train for at least a half hour (once per day).

Georges is a brawler, unsophisticated by Trade’s standards, and happy to be confrontational – which is precisely why Marc chose him to be the Angel of Trains. The Industrial Revolution was a rather hard-fought fight between the forces of Heaven and Hell, and the Archangel of Trade wanted somebody on the job who wouldn’t be shy about mixing it up with Servitors of Technology.  Or shy about fending off Servitors of Lightning who might want to poach on this word, not that Jean ever ended up doing that.  In fact, Jean gave Georges a reward for finally settling the Great Celestial Railroad War; that particular conflict was starting to get in the way of Jean’s scheduling.

Most celestials, by the way, think that tThe Great Celestial Railroad War makes for fascinating reading.  It lasted from 1857 to 1926, spanned five continents, and was behind-the-scenes savage, as only a secret fight led by a Cherub Word-bound can be. Georges more than held his own during the conflict, proving fairly adept at both leading and inspiring troops.  But he was inspirationally good at staving in demonic skulls with a spike puller, which is again largely why Georges got tapped for the Word of Trains in the first place.  Marc is a sophisticated Archangel with a genuine innate desire to negotiate everything out peacefully; but sometimes you need somebody tough and implacable to serve the Word.

Personality wise, Georges is a little rough for Trade’s organization. He’s not a bad sort, nor is he at risk of Falling; but he’s sometimes a little impatient about anything that keeps the trains from running properly. Georges understands subtle, but he often think that it’s a bit of a luxury. Subtle doesn’t get the brake lines fixed, or keep the boiler from exploding, or stop the kids from playing with the freight cars. Absolute, Cherubic attention to detail, on the other hand, can prevent all three.

Last note: there still is, in fact, a Demon of Trains.  Georges is absolutely certain of this fact; after all, he was the one who threw that demon into an apparently bottomless mineshaft after ripping off the demon’s own wings, and shoving them down the demon’s throat.  Surely Georges would have heard the sound of the demon hitting the bottom, and the demon has never come around again, so presumably it’s still falling down the hole.  Georges sees no reason to worry about this further unless and until something changes.
