Tweet of the Day, When Elves Go Bad edition.

Or, more accurately: When actors decide that they miss those sweet, sweet genre movie blockbuster paychecks.  Oh, don’t get me wrong: Hugo Weaving clearly had fun as the Red Skull (shame that they killed him off right away).  But the cash certainly helped.

This would be an appropriate place to use that Discworld quote about elves, I think.

Don’t forget the Bagginses becoming cheeky British detective sidekicks: Freeman as Holme’s Watson, and now Wood is in Douglas Adam’s other series, Dirk Gently.

IIRC, Weaving stated at one point (back before Avengers came out, when people had noted that RS is taken by a Bifrost effect, and there was speculation that meant his character was slated to return in the future) that he wasn’t really interested in playing the character again.

He did appear to have fun with it, though.
