I’m of several minds regarding the SJ Games Conspiracy Theory Kickstarter.

Simply put: on the one hand, it looks really sweet.  On the other hand, there’s a bunch of Kickstarters that Steve Jackson Games is supposed to be working on, right now; I haven’t gotten my Dungeon Fantasy stuff yet, or the plastic Ogres. And on the gripping hand, this project looks like it’s using different skill trees than would RPG editing, or plastics miniatures design.

And, back to the original point: it looks really sweet.  This is a game that I would play.  This looks like a game that was designed with people like me in mind, in fact.  I am going to react favorably to something with that kind of appeal.  I’m not proud of this, but that’s just the way that it goes.

So I dunno.

  1. To play Devil’s advocate here (1 Power, 5 resistance, weird, fanatic) both Dungeon Fantasy and Munchkin Shakespeare are on the water and should be in backers’ hands in early October, assuming that Harvey hasn’t screwed up Houston’s ports too much. (Also assuming that’s where the ships were headed.) Those are as basically done as they can get. Which leaves the minis and Ogrezine as the only outstanding projects right now. And the folks working on those projects don’t sound like they’d be the same ones who be working on this project.

Me? I’m skipping. I really don’t need another A2A/ CAH/ Superfight/Red flags type game in my library.

    1. Also, why did I follow the “Illuminati Card Game predicts future events!” link in my search? Now I just want to yell at people.

  2. It’s right up my alley, and I have a massive soft spot for the company. As long as the price is right, I’m in.

Eh, I didn’t order the miniatures. Can’t convince my kids to play the game with me.
As to Dungeon Fantasy, I went PDF, so I’ve already gotten a good chunk of it.
