Tweet of the Day, The Next Stage Of The MCU Is Gonna Be LIT edition.

Joe, I feel, gets right to the freaking point of the matter:

X-Men, too. And, hot damn! Deadpool. Assuming that the talks don’t fall through, of course. But if they don’t… oh, wow, watching the Mouse try to get a handle on the Merc with the Mouth would be epic. EPIC. They’d fall over themselves trying to thread that particular needle.

  1. I mean, I guess that’s one way to sort out the business with who owns what rights to Marvel and Star Wars.

    Holy crap, though.

  2. I think this is a bit of an…extreme…way to go about collecting those particular IPs.

  3. Maybe they’ll move Deadpool to Touchstone Pictures– after all, didn’t they create Touchstone so they could release R-rated movies without having Disney’s name directly on it?

  4. I don’t know about this.

Ok, firstly it’s because oligopolies make me nervous.
But also because even in the comic books, both FF and X-Men were largely self-contained and the repeated efforts to incorporate them into the setting ranged from awful to awkward. It’s pretty hard to square the Avengers with Genosha, or include the FF without invoking the “Reed Richard is useless” trope lest he derail the plot.
