Book of the Week: The Dragons of Dorcastle.

When I looked at the cover of Jack Campbell’s The Dragons of Dorcastle, I said There had better be a good reason why that woman is carrying a semi-automatic pistol in a fantasy setting. …I am now on book three of my chain-downloading of this series, because there was, indeed a good reason why she was carrying a semi-auto. They’re offering the Kindle versions of the books for ridiculously low prices*, so you might as well start drinking ’em down now before they come to their senses.

And so, adieu to… whatever it was last week. I’m on a remarkably slow platform right now and I’d rather like to be taking a nap instead.

  1. Might check this one out. I picked up the new one from Sanderson ‘Oathbringer’ (the latest in his epic series.) Not too bad. Good enough that I have started back on the first book again.

  2. Kindle prices are good all over. I picked up the upcoming Book 6 of Marko Kloos’ Frontlines for 4.99.
    .
As an aside, I hate the Amazon “you may like these” widget because it keeps showing stuff that I’m considering buying the kids for freaking Christmas.

  3. Read this quite a while back, but never made it on to the second book. I think I got sidetracked by a couple dubious Star Wars novels and, then, stopped reading books for … at least a year, I think.
