Managed to do a full-front trip and fall onto the sidewalk. Cut mouth, nosebleed, bleeding nose (if that makes sense), big abrasion on knee, small abrasion on other knee, hands both nastily skinned, thumb feels like it’s been wrenched (not broken or dislocated). Right outside of my kids’ school, fortunately; they were able to clean me up and band-aid me up*, but it was pretty goram spectacular. Flesh wounds bleed like nobody’s business; I was morbidly interested to see how quickly the ants had found the gore on the sidewalk.
So, hey, light posting this afternoon.

Crikey, that sounds painful. Glad to hear there were no serious injuries.
I realize that this is one of the last things you want to hear right now, but you are…maturing (physically anyway), and you need to be a little more careful. The world seems to be a more unfriendly place once you start closing in on 50.
Not to mention what it’s like when 60 walks up and knees you in the bajoobies.
Oh, I was telling myself as I picked myself up, “If this had happened ten years from now I’d have broken something.” Thank God for modern medicine, sanitation, and nutrition science, hey?
Good Lord be with you, Mr. Lane, I’m glad you’re mostly OK. You’re too young to get old.
So you wait until all the ice has melted and then fall down? That’s either bad timing or an unconscious desire for irony.
I’m glad you weren’t seriously hurt.

Yeah, I was walking my kids home. They were absolute troupers about it, though. We even examined the bloodstained sidewalk when we went to school today. They found it impressive. 🙂
