PS: Mind you, I’m not saying anything really bad about the original Escape From The Planet of the Apes. I remember it fondly from weekend daytime television programming. They’d put stuff like this up, and we’d watch it, and it was cool. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen the original, unbutchered version, but what I remember was pretty cool. However, that explanation above still makes no sense to me. Which may be a failing of my understanding, sure.
