Goodness knows Sony would like to get a decent series out of Spider-Man, now that they’ve been given a competence infusion by Disney/Marvel.  I don’t know how you make Mysterio not look stupid on the big screen, though. Vulture, you can manage by making the suit really high-tech and having Michael Keaton do his smiling-scowling crazy-face*. But Mysterio is a dude with a bowl covering his head.  How do you keep that from being funny, for all the wrong reasons?

Although, to be fair: I thought Doc Ock was going to look stupid in Spider-Man 2, and he absolutely did not.   My wife the roboticist was impressed by the way that they got the arms right:

So, hey, you never know.

*Vulture was a wonder, for a MCU villain: clear-headed, not prone to grandiose gestures or extravagant plans, prepared to not escalate violence for violence’s sake, and capable of surviving past the closing credits.
