New ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ clip.

You know, of all the Marvel heroes out there: if I was a government, I’d be most scared of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

You can get your head around most of the Avengers. Captain America operates at 15/10 of human potential at all times. Iron Man is a genius in a battlesuit. Hulk is a big green guy who’s really, really tough and strong. Thor is an alien with super-science and a hammer. Hawkeye and Black Widow don’t actually have powers. This is stuff that, if not explicable, at least isn’t opaque. You can figure out output and limitations.

But Ant-Man and the Wasp? That sh*t they do is straight-up magic, man.  And not magic like Scarlet Witch’s, or Dr. Strange’s, or even whatever Vision’s doing.  Those three seem to have constraints on what they can do.  But Ant-Man and the Wasp pretty much cast Wish whenever they feel like it and suddenly you’re trying to dodge a fifteen-foot long Hello Kitty Pez dispenser.  And there isn’t an obvious battery or recharge timer on their abilities, either.  That’s gotta freak out governments in the MCU.  It would certainly bother me, except of course that I’d be on Ant-Man and the Wasp’s side anyway so no worries there.

I am so totally seeing this movie.

  • Brian Swisher says:

I was glad to see that the Three Wombats are back for this movie. They were enjoyable side characters, and I like Michael Peña.

  • Canthros says:

I am already bothered by how the tiny van can keep up with the one that’s normal sized. How does the transmission keep up, never mind how does it manage without blowing up the engine?
Last one was fun, though, so I’m looking forward to this.

    • Moe_Lane says:

Because Scott and Lily didn’t take the “Proportional Attributes” limitation for Shrink, of course. But they did take the Proportional Attributes enhancement for Growth, which is why the ant is able to survive at human size without suffocating. And has the intelligence necessary to play drums.

Because this isn’t just a superhero movie. It’s a goram superhero RPG movie.
