They maybe don’t really want to admit it too loudly, but Honest Trailers liked Venom.
It is, admittedly, a little weird to admit that Venom was pretty good, in a completely messed up sort of way. I mean, it’s a PG-13 movie about an alien that takes over a human’s body and then eats people, and you’re supposed to root for that. And you do, because by then end Venom promises to only eat bad people and you can even believe that. This is not a movie that Disney/Marvel would ever make in a million billion years, so it worked out all right that Sony could, huh?
I’m gonna have to disagree with Honest Trailers on the R part, though. My kids find Venom fascinating, but I won’t let them watch R movies yet. Heck, I won’t let them watch PG-13 ones until they’re 13, but that’s a much closer checkpoint for them.
The S-I-L saw Venom at least six times- in theaters.
