Damned if this actually doesn’t look half bad.
I mean, it looks like they’re playing Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase pretty straight, here: Ellen must like the source material. Also, I am predisposed to having a character explain earnestly that they’re only felonies when you’re eighteen. That’s a damned good bit of helpful life advice, there.

I read a ton of Hardy Boys as a kid and a few Nancy’s, but they’ve been wrangled by the PC police lately – only read or recommend them if you can get the originals, not the bowdlerized current editions.
