  1. The age of our forefathers – @1720 to 1820 – deserves to be romanticized. The skills they had – navigation, woodcraft, agriculture – are the building blocks of modern culture and with the ages of steam and electricity looming it was the last time man could truly see and understand everything in his world, with the sailing ship being the epitome of civilization; no other setting demanded such a wide range of skills and knowledge to succeed in.

  2. Confession: I never knew the actual words to this one.

    Love the tune.

    The words seem to be just put in there to fit said tune, though.
