Florence Pugh joins Black Widow movie.

I dunno, I haven’t seen her on the big screen yet.

Rising actress Florence Pugh is in talks to star opposite Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow, Marvel’s stand-alone feature on the Avengers heroine.

Cate Shortland, the Australian filmmaker perhaps best known for the Nazi drama Lore, is directing the project, which is scheduled to shoot in June in London.

…Yet. Come, I will conceal nothing from you: I was raised on Louisa May Alcott novels, and apparently Florence Pugh is going to be in the upcoming Little Women movie. Which yes, I am going to go see. Without apology or shame*.

Getting back to Florence Pugh: she’s apparently going to be playing Black Widow’s ‘moral opposite.’ This likely dashes my hopes of a Rashomon-like film about What Happened in Budapest, but I suppose I could never really hope for that anyway. Alas. Alack.

*This would be the upcoming 2019 version, not the 2018 version which was set in the modern era, and then apparently disappeared utterly. I refrain from further comment upon that.

  1. Frankly, I want Hawkeye to say, “I have a mission in Hungary. It should be an easy foot wetting.” right before the credits roll. Noodle incidents are ruined if they ever get shown.

  2. Fun fact: They filmed that Little Women movie near me, and I know someone who might possibly be an extra in the film. (In the background of a scene, so it could be cut)

It was also a pain in the *** when the filming locations made people take a detour during rush hour. But enough about me!
