3.5 hours left on the Song of Fire and Ice Bundle of Holding! (#fixitfiction)

The Song of Fire and Ice Bundle of Holding. If you’re inclined to, you know, make Game of Thrones come out right after all, or something*. Certainly waiting for the author to finish it isn’t exactly a viable long-term plan…

…OK, OK, I’ll be good. I was kind of upset myself that we’re never getting an actual ending to War Against the Chtorr. I should be nicer to people who are in a similar bind now.

Moe Lane

*Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.

  1. George Martin’s schtick has always been “Life is disappointing.” I feel like the writers honored that, if not in style, certainly in the final spirit.

  2. The Dance with Dragons book killed my interest in the series as throughly as The Phantom Menace. For similar (if much more X-rated) reasons.
At that point, it was clear that the author had lost the plot, and was destroying the thing that we’d loved.
    .
It does sound like the writers and producers were over it, and just filmed the bullet points. Foreshadowing alone should have doubled the number of episodes.
But then, I vaguely remember that the writers and producers caused a controversy when there was no foreshadowing of the Red Wedding. (Unlike the book.) So Wham! episodes where things totally change because *reasons* are not a change. It’s just that the books themselves didn’t seve as foreshadowing for the show.
