The Carnival Row teaser trailer.

Victorian faeriepunk? You have my attention, Carnival Row:

Will there be brawling? I feel that there should be brawling. And perhaps a troll or two. And maybe some elixirs — still, I’m sure that Amazon knows its business best. Coming out August 30th whether it does, or not.

  1. YOUR description is interesting, the one offered by the producers though, calling it and allegory for repressed people and immigration, is far too SJW/PC bullshite to even consider watching. And since that’s how they describe themselves…no.

    1. I have some hopes that it’s just a bunch of aforementioned bullshite to keep down the complaints before the show’s actually out. They actually want people to watch past the first episode, after all.

    2. Gah. Everything’s a metaphor used to advance the Leftist Borg. Drives me nuts, and bores me to tears, all in one go.
      .
But some of it *is* unintentionally hilarious.
Vampires are bloodsucking parasites and deadly predators that embody disease and contagion, who are literally demonic in their rebellion against God.
Are you REALLY SURE you want to use them as a metaphor for homosexuals and gay culture?
Because that seems a bit harsh, even to me.
      You do?
      Carry on, then.

      1. You say that, but these are the same heathens who’s idea of “vampire” is Sparkles the Emo Bad-boy,™ and who consider either a “hero” character.

  2. The words missing that would make this a must watch are “Directed by Guy Ritchie”.

  3. I’m hoping the lead actress does better than what I’ve seen her in, but Bloom is a solid choice. Interest piqued!
