This has been going around, and people have been pointing out THE GREEN NIGHT to me. all specific-like. Why? Darned if I know. It’s a complete mystery, it is.
So far, I’m a fan of the aesthetic. This isn’t crystal-and-flute magic that they’re showing; it’s wrought-iron magic, almost industrial and definitely influenced by horror tropes. It’s not quite grimdark, but if you put a finger in the wrong place it’ll get implacably burned off by arcane fire, sure enough. You look at that trailer, and you just know that at some point somebody’s going to say something along the lines of Power is bought with blood and it won’t be a metaphor.
So, yeah, I’m kind of down for this.
Well, I’m skeptical that they’ll abide by the original tale but I’d watch Alicia Vikander read the phone book, so I will probably give it a try.
Alicia Vikander pretty much was reading the phone book for “Tomb Raider”. It wasn’t as fun as you’d think.
