So, they’re remaking LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.

And it’s gonna be a fascinating cast for the new LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS if this all goes down the way it’s rumored to go down. Scarlett Johansson for Audrey, Taron Egerton (Eggsby from KINGSMAN) for Seymour, Chris Evans for the dentist, and some guy named Billy Porter for Audrey 2 who I only know about vaguely because he picks out weird things to wear on the red carpet. I am very curious to see out who out of the first three can sing*.

Will I see it? …Maybe? I really do want to see whether Johansson can do Audrey properly. It could be fun.

Moe Lane

*Steve Martin is an accomplished musician (banjo) who can carry a tune, which is why he punched that one song. Rick Moranis is likewise able to sing. And, of course, Ellen Greene owned that role in the theatrical production and the people making the movie were disinclined to let anybody else have it. Which is as it should be.

  1. Chris Evans can sing. He did community theater growing up through high school. There’s an adorable picture of him as a little kid from a production of “The King and I” at a local Massachusetts theater.
