It surely is, Leo. It surely is.

“Well, it worked for them for centuries,” Jimmie said as he stashed his binoculars. “I guess even Dominion mages get lazy. So: we know what they’re planning. They’re planning on waiting for a miracle. So how do we disturb that?”

“By giving them a miracle, milord,” said Leo promptly. “We disguise ourselves as an ambush party, just in from one of the other sites. We tell them that success has been achieved, they open the gates, we fall upon the mages, and then we go up to their tower and send word to the Dominion that the attack can go in. Then we run away and let the Alliance military handle the problem.”

Jimmie stared at Leo in mingled respect, and horror. “Is that how Virginians usually plan things out?” he finally said.

Leo looked pained. “Well, no. I regret to say that I decided to simplify my idea quite a bit. You see, normally we would have to assume that one of the slave-soldiers would be the long-lost relative of one of our crew, meaning that we would need to rescue him or her while we took the fort. But we just do not have the time to check! This situation is unstable, and must be exploited, no matter the personal cost.” Leo sighed. “War is, indeed, Hell.”

  1. Leo is overthinking this: if one of the slave soldiers is your long lost relative, he will obviously present that information when you try to kill him.
