  1. Huh.

    (slightly longer reaction) Huh.

Honestly I am not sure how to react to this one. On the one hand, maybe this gives hope that that longer version of Event Horizon will surface or that we might get a real Aliens 3.
On the other hand, I remember someone mentioning that the Snyder ‘cut’ probably did not have the effects done for it. On the other other hand, the effects for Justice League were… iffy at best anyway so it is not like a lower budget effort could be that much worse.
(It still amazes me that the effects from the 1970s (Star Wars) and late 80s/early 90s (Aliens and Terminator 2) still look better than a lot of the half hearted attempts these days.)

    1. Computer effects never look quite right .. the ones in Young Sherlock Holmes made this work, but the ones in Sky Captain didn’t.

They’re animation .. nothing more, nothing less .. whether they resemble Disney’s Mary Poppins or not. Making animation the center of the piece doesn’t work .. the animation has to support the story.

    2. Warner Bros is throwing 20 million at this for voice work and special effects, post-production et al.

Not saying I want to see another version of Justice League, but there’s that.

  2. Eh.

On the one hand, it’ll likely be an improvement.
On the other, fun and uplifting isn’t Snyder’s thing.
