So, I was up until 5 AM on CYBERPUNK 2077.

I guess that means it’s… good? Also: it is remarkably easy to get into the habit of slaughtering gang members (after checking them for NCPD bounties, of course) in order to fund your cyberware debts. I realized this only after being surrounded by a pile of corpse parts in an alleyway. Am I a serial killer for the police? I asked myself, and was mildly troubled when I considered the answer.

Awk-ward…

PS: Cyberpunk 2077 runs real smooth on my machine, by the way. I dunno, maybe the Day One Patch was included in the reinstallation.

  1. Uh oh. Sound like I’m gonna have to upgrade my puter for this one. The one I have is 4 years old and I think that’s a bit slow now.

    Oh well.

  2. It runs well on my computer, as well. There have been some small issues, but that’s normal for a new game.

I’m seeing tons and tons of complaints on the Reddit about how the game just absolutely positively refuses to run. I’m torn between the two possibilities that large numbers of people really can’t run the game for reasons that aren’t readily apparent (I’ve seen people with seemingly the exact same model of console getting completely opposite results), and that someone(s) has decided to blanket the Reddit with false claims of catastrophic issues. I’m sure that some people have problems, likely including issues that keep them from running the game. But by looking at the Reddit you’d think that the vast majority of players simply can’t play.

    So far, I’m enjoying it.

  3. No major issues here either. Had a lot of small graphical issues for example, on a phone call someone smoking a cigarette… wasn’t. The cigarette was hanging in the air outside of her hand- cybercigarettes! Some physics issues- slippery refuse(?) like trash bags can sometimes act on the player oddly and slide you to the side. Had one mission that hung, but I am not sure on replaying and everything working smoothly that I did not just not shoot all of the stuff that was shootable on the initial attempt.
    Overall, very impressive.
I also want to mention one thing: they are not afraid to let you bork your character- which is refreshing in this day and age. You actually get locked out of playing a mission in a chosen way if you have not specced into the proper traits. At least in the early going, trying to be too gadfly will probably make things very difficult.
