Tweet of the Day, The Relevant Spider Robinson Story Is Called ‘Melancholy Elephants*’ edition.

This, but sort of for real?

Frankly, the current public domain line should be 1971 (50 years). Or 1991 (30). You could make an argument that it should be 2001 (20). It should not be ‘forever minus one day,’ and it was a cheery note in a long night when the person who uttered that inane suggestion suddenly had to find a different line of work.

But I digress. At least we’ve got 1925 to work with, now. With any luck at all I’ll be able to draw from everything from WWII before I die.

  1. He didn’t so much find another line of work, as find a tree at a high rate of speed.
    Or so the story goes.
    Blunt force trauma, anyway.
At the Sun Valley ski resort, on a meticulously groomed intermediate cruiser conspicuous for being unusually wide.
I’ve seen the spot (and have paid my respects with an appropriate libation).
    It’s possible, I guess.
    Extremely unlikely.
    But possible.
Maybe it was karma leading him to a well-deserved fate.
Or maybe Hollywood (and its metastisized nodes) are oozing pustules of corruption.
    I couldn’t say.
