To be fair, the odds are better than normal. You might get superpowers out of the deal, instead of an alien eating your face. The historical record is mixed that way. Your call.

A nice nickel-iron specimen, at that.
It makes a cool paperweight, but it’s notably lacking in superpowers or extradimensional tentacles.
(I used to be a bit of a rockhound. Sadly, most of my collection has unaccountably gone missing over the years.)
