You can’t… really blame VICE for this one.

If you’re VICE, and somebody sends you a copy of the incredibly unfortunate route of the EVERGREEN just before it wedged itself in the Suez Canal, you gotta run it. You just have to. It would be denying your very nature if you did not.

Tweet after the fold. NSFW – and that’s always fun to write when it’s referring to an aerial plot.

  1. Meh. Vice isn’t exactly known as an accurate source of information, and considering the tweet itself shows the ship is longer than the canal is wide, claiming the ship “drew” that particular shape is little nothing than clickbait … which is what I would expect from Vice, anyway.

  2. So… wandering through some other news sites on the matter…

“The Ever Given reportedly was fifth in a northbound convoy when it somehow got turned sideways and stuck. Fifteen ships were said to have been behind the Ever Given at the time and were prevented from proceeding. Because of the Ever Given’s position, southbound traffic also was blocked by the ultra large container ship. ”

“An Egyptian official who spoke to the Associated Press confirmed that efforts to remove the ship would take at least two days and blamed a strong 50 km/h gust of wind for the accident.”

Yeah, looks like the dick pic is a hoax.

    1. Hoax is such a strong word.
Their interpretation of the facts presented is open to question, but that’s different from them pushing a hoax.

  3. Glad I’m not the only one that mistook the name of the shipping company on the side of the boat with the boat’s actual name. “Why did they quote that guy saying Ever Given? The boat clearly says EVERGREEN…”
