The NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK trailer.

I actually went and got the Robert Silverberg story that the NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK movie is adapting. It’s not a bad story at all, although I dunno if you can make a two hour movie out of it. I’m also feeling a little cranky over the unholy glee being shown over the title – it seems all right to me? – but that might just be from a lack of breakfast. An author’s titles are our titles; we pick ’em for our own reasons, and that is the way of it.

  1. The adapter John Ridley has sci-fi chops.

Check out his Those Who Walk in Darkness and is sequel published in the early 2000’s.

  2. Re: Jeff’s comment on the title. I never trust the artistic judgement of anyone who boasts about how avantgarde their musical taste is.

  3. If you haven’t read it already, Up the Line by Silverberg is also a treat. In that one, the protagonist/antihero goes into the past as a tour guide, but he falls in love, which is expressly forbidden. Good book.
