Okay. So this isn’t horrible.

I still expect MOONFALL to be flat-out absurd, but they get points for having the astronaut correct for spin, and generally thinking at least a little about orbital mechanics. A very little. You have to grade Hollywood on a curve.

PS: By the way? NASA doesn’t have orbiters anymore, Hollywood. I mean, sure, Elon Musk’s going as fast as he can — but he wants rocketships, not shuttles. Just saying.

  1. Yeah, just read the summary on Wikipedia (such as it is), and “preposterous” is the word that comes to mind.
