The Obligatory STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER trailer.

I know, I know. This is not a welcome cultural artifact, for many of you. But I still retain a stubborn liking for the films. It’ll all be moot in three months anyway, because then STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be out and the Empire will smoothly segue to churning out TV shows until the sun runs out of hydrogen to fuse into helium. And, truly: is that not amusing, in and of itself? I submit to you that it is.

The ‘Bless Their Hearts’ DICKINSON Apple TV+ trailer.

You know, it takes a lot to kind of horrify GeekTyrant. I don’t mean that as a criticism of the site: I actually like how they’re so positively enthusiastic about geek-stuff, even when I don’t think that the stuff they’re being enthusiastic is worth it. But the Dickinson trailer made them blink, relatively speaking:

Some details on the BLACK WIDOW flick.

Does involve Budapest; set between CIVIL WAR and INFINITY WAR; and will supposedly offer closure. Ehh, I don’t want “closure” in the BLACK WIDOW movie. I’m actually fine with how the character originally died: in the shadows, doing a very unpleasant job so that somebody else wouldn’t have to. Nah, what I want is a very kinetic action film where Black Widow can finally cut loose a little for more than a minute at a time.

In the Mail: Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans.

Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans is going to be our movie night Friday, I think. It should be interesting: my oldest is of the opinion that Teen Titans are the better Titans, while my youngest insists that Teen Titans Go! are. Neither of them are wrong, I hate to say: Teen Titans Go! is designed for its demographic, and my youngest is firmly in that demographic.

Looking forward to it in general, though. The clips I’ve seen online already really sold me on the concept. Plus, Movie Night. Watching the kids get into Coraline was a lot of fun.

Jack Ryan, Deadpool team up to do IMAGINARY FRIENDS flick.

Well. Their actors are: “Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski are teaming for Imaginary Friends, a fantastical comedy that is in the process of being picked up by Paramount… Krasinski will write, direct, produce and star and Reynolds will co-star in the tale of a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those that become evil.”

But, honestly? I like my idea better. Just have Jack Ryan and Deadpool do it. Straight up. And never explain. Not even in the closing credits or the endscene. Have everybody there in the theater sit there afterward, wondering if what the heck they just watched is actually canon or not, for either universe. Or both!

I guarantee you, that would mess with people’s heads.
