…Well, I got the bleeping wings.

Current endgame for Secret World Legends: fight, sneak, and in one case simply run (creeped out) through twenty-one floors, to get to the boardroom. Fight through the boardroom to get to the penthouse.  Fight through three crazy Japanese katana schoolgirls wearing rabbit heads to get to Lilith.  Annnnnnnd then there was an exposition dump, punctuated with occasional bouts of killing monsters.

And now I have wings.  It was a fun afternoon, but I am exhausted and I need to sleep now. The freaking lair will still be there tomorrow.

‘The Love Song of Morgaine ‘Morganey’ Jones.’

Since I’m waiting patiently for the Secret World Legends server to turn back on… time for bad fan parody poetry!  Aren’t you lucky! In related news; posting may be a bit light today.

The Love Song of Morgaine ‘Morganey’ Jones

Let us go then, you and I,
To the Tower, defiant against the sky
Like a brooding castle from the fables;
Let us go, through certain ghost-demented streets,
From babbling retreats
To Filthy nights in purple-hued hotels
And noodle restaurants that fight nine Hells:
Streets that contort like a whispered argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an penultimate quest’s end…
Oh, do not ask, “What is it?”
Let us go and make our visit.

The Ogre video game is now live on Steam.

Twenty five bucks.  For that you get multiplayer, and what looks to be an absolutely faithful computer version of the game.  Which very much includes the visual look.  The aesthetic goal here seems to have been ‘automate all the movement and combat rolls and everything boring,’ while reproducing the way that tabletop Ogre presented itself. Add that to an actual single-player campaign and you just may have a video game on your hands.

‘Tales from the Tomb’ kinda makes me want to get Assassin’s Creed Origins now.

Seriously, this is good marketing. Well, at least it’s good marketing for me.  But then, I’m somebody who was waffling about buying Assassin’s Creed Origins, and maybe that’s who they were aiming for.

Tokyo Lair finally coming in next @SecretWorldLgds update?

That’s what they’re claiming. Supposedly it’s all scheduled for October 11th: Orochi Tower, endgame, lair, wrist signets. Kaiden dungeons will not be showing up in Secret World Legends in the next update, or in fact this year. Still, a Lair in Tokyo is going to be the first no-fooling new content in this game that we’re going to see, so having that show up in two weeks will be pretty sweet. Assassin’s Creed franchise in the middle of a Midweek Madness Steam sale.

66% off for their titles. I can tell you, truly: Assassins Creed Syndicate is worth the sixteen bucks, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag would also be worth the sixteen bucks, let alone the less than seven that they’re asking for*. Black Flag will let you do pretty much everything that you want to do with a pirate ship, sometimes in a howling rainstorm with waterspouts and riptides. I had a lot of fun playing that game. Fallout 4 (2015) releases Game of the Year (in 2017).

I… have no idea why Bethesda waited until now to bring out a GotY version of Fallout 4.   Maybe it’s on the checklist for Things to Do Before We Can Get Started on Fallout 5?  Or maybe they thought that they had released the GotY, only Bethesda checked its website this morning and realized that they forgot to hit publish.  That happens to me sometimes.

:pause, while looking at pictures:

Man, I always forget just how bleak the Commonwealth looks when playing vanilla. If you pick this one up, do yourself a favor and go download the Fallout 4 Seasons Project. I typically run the Summer option, but they’re all good for making the place look better. Even the Winter option is pretty good. Continue reading Fallout 4 (2015) releases Game of the Year (in 2017).
