The ‘Here We Go Again’ AMAZING STORIES Apple TV+ trailer.

Then again: well, Apple TV+. It’s not like I’m going to remember that they did a remake of Amazing Stories. Which was, by the way, not beloved by anybody except the critics*. Maybe that’s why I’m so sour about this: I watched it when it was out, shrugged at it, but was then supposed to love it because I was a geek and it was by Spielberg.

Yeah no.

*If you loved it and are happy that it’s back: then I’m sorry for the ‘anybody except the critics’ bit.

Spielberg, NBC team up with Apple to bring us the all-new Amazing Stories 10.

Nah, I’m not going to get tired of that joke any time soon. Anyway: “Amblin Entertainment and producer Steven Spielberg are teaming up with Apple to produce a reboot of the classic 1980s anthology series Amazing Stories.” Geektyrant is, I think, only mildly realistically hopeful that they won’t simply recycle all of the old episodes.  Why only ‘mildly?’ Well… there’s a certain perception here on my part that all of the people and companies are, ah, how do I put this?  Well, you might very well say that their best work is behind them, but I couldn’t possibly comment. Except definitely in Apple’s case: they’re coasting on inertia and nostalgia.

But, hey, I’d be happy to be proved wrong on this.
