No, really.
It’s beautiful. And pretty much on the nose, as such things go. At least from my point of view.

Thank goodness for Netflix: they’re just going to show it on there after the Godzilla anime finishes its run in Japan. I think that this works out for everybody: I’ll be able to watch it without too much of a hassle and they won’t have to try to get an American distribution deal going. Well, OK, obviously Netflix is making a distribution deal here, but you know what I mean. No need to try to get butts in cinema seats.

PS: Yup, I’m assuming that it’s going to be decent. They take this intellectual property seriously in Japan, and they also take anime seriously. It has no legitimate excuse not to be at least decent, honestly.
…this one from Robot Carnival (director: Hiroyuki Kitakubo) is fun, in a very, very, specialized way.
Robot Carnival did a bunch to convince people that this ‘anime’ thing was an honest-to-God art form; I’m surprised that it’s so hard to find these days.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Blood – The Last Vampire translates to live-action, but there’s a bit of a problem.
Here’s the Japanese teaser trailer:
…and here’s the American actual trailer.
I suspect that I’m going to want to see this one in subtitles.
