#rsrh Shorter Kimberly Atkins: Lizzie Warren doesn’t know how to campaign.

I’m sorry, was this not already known?

Background: Mike Bloomberg came out with a surprise endorsement of Republican Senator Scott Brown, supposedly due to Brown’s opposition to cross-state recognition of other states’ Concealed Carry Weapons permits.  Which is an issue that… I have not really considered before now, actually.  Personally, a Bloomberg endorsement is not something to look for, so if you’re more suspicious of Brown accordingly then I’m not about to criticize you for it. More to the point, there’s an excellent chance that this endorsement was hastily made in order to explain away a fundraiser that Bloomberg was planning for Brown next month – which I assume would have some resonance in Massachusetts.

#rsrh Please, DNC: Give Elizabeth Warren the keynote speech.

Please, please, please: “Citing an Obama campaign official, the [Boston Globe] recently reported that the Massachusetts Senate candidate – and liberal darling – is under consideration for the high-profile speaking assignment.”

Via @SissyWillis.  The Boston Globe article is here, by the way; unfortunately, it’s just at the level of dismissive rumor at the moment.  Which is a pity: I figure that the GOP* could net about twenty million bucks and lock down about five Electoral Votes just off of her speech.  The woman’s a walking menace to her own side.

Hey, ignore me.  Show me better.  Please.  I am on my knees and begging the Democrats to make Elizabeth Warren the keynote speaker…

*You know.  The good guys.

#rsrh Barack Obama channels his inner #Fauxcahontas.

Charming, in that deeply stupid way that one finds in people who have never had to fully live up to the promise of their potential.  From Barack Obama’s comments in Roanoke:

If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.

Via @JimPethokoukas.  Somebody should really explain to the President that sounding like Elizabeth Warren is not a guarantor of success even in Massachusetts; in actual swing states it comes across as being, say, a clueless drone with no conception of what goes into making a business work and even less of a conception of what adversity looks like.  To put it more simply: just because Barack Obama never accomplished anything on his own as an adult doesn’t that the rest of us can’t.

#rsrh MA-SEN Watch: Time to dial it back on Elizabeth Warren?

Because MA Democratic party spokesmen are starting to talk about how they’re not even talking about replacing Ms. Warren somehow.  For those unfamiliar with the rough-and-tumble of political campaigns – which is to say, people like Elizabeth Warren – this is the first warning sign that the leadership of a political party is quietly talking about replacing a substandard candidate somehow.  So… maybe it’s time to let things simmer, as it were.

Yes, I am fully cognizant of the counter-argument that you don’t want to let up on a wounded opposing candidate, but there is the niggling detail that Elizabeth Warren is not yet officially the candidate.  The Democrats could conceivably still blitz an alternative that can gather the signatures for the June 5th deadline and get the 15% of delegates necessary at the June 2nd convention to get on the September primary ballot*; and if there’s too much panic, they probably will.  The only reason that they haven’t, yet, is because Warren has a lot of money and her major primary opponent wants to use the MA-SEN race to argue about how we need single-payer health care; given that Scott Brown won successfully on being the sixtieth vote against Obamacare, you can imagine just how well that particular policy position sits with the MA Democratic brass.  But the Democrats can still decide that they might as well take a chance, so hey: let’s be careful out there. #rsrh QotD, It Explains So Much Edition.

Erick got in a couple of good digs in about the revelation that Barack Obama’s own press agents had lied by advertising Obama as being Kenyan-born for a decade (for the record: I am as hard on Birthers here as we are on RedState, and we ban Birthers on sight at RedState), so read the whole thing.  A taste:

Barack Obama embellishing his biography to make himself look unique? Hardly worthy of press attention. In fact, nothing Barack Obama has done suggesting serious character flaws — and that’s what this is about — is ever worth the media’s collective attention. Why? Because some people think Barack Obama was born in Kenya, but much of the press corps is pretty damn sure he was born in Bethlehem.

#rsrh Elizabeth Warren (D CAND, MA-SEN PRI), having lived by identity politics…

…may now politically die by them.

And how tragic, if that ends up being the case.  Come, I will conceal nothing from you: this Twila Barnes individual comes across as having a chip on her shoulder, her nose out of joint, sore elbows from all the jabbing that she does with them, a permanent restless tremor in her knee, and… :snapping fingers: a perfectly toned spleen from all the exercise Barnes gives it!  Betcha thought I couldn’t come up with another body-themed descriptor there, huh?

Well, I am a sexy shoeless god of war.

Elizabeth Warren’s ancestor traced back to Trail of Tears! …On the side holding the guns.

Also: the new character assassination term of art is “Fauxcahontis.” Please update accordingly.

Yeah, when’s that primary in Massachusetts, again?  Because the general election is going to be a trip:

…the most stunning discovery about the life of O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is that her husband, Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, was apparently a member of the Tennessee Militia who rounded up Cherokees from their family homes in the Southeastern United States and herded them into government-built stockades in what was then called Ross’s Landing (now Chattanooga), Tennessee—the point of origin for the horrific Trail of Tears, which began in January, 1837.

In case you were wondering: O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is Elizabeth Warren’s ‘Cherokee’ ancestor; and by ‘Cherokee’ I mean ‘actually probably Swedish.’ See AoSHQ for more.  Also, see Legal Insurrection for the original revelation. #RSRH Elizabeth Warren: 1/32 Cherokee! See! That counts!

Clearly I should have been claiming to be a minority blogger for lo, all these many years.  Or college student.  Or worker.  Or anywhere else where it would have given me a leg up. – Because apparently people don’t bother to check, unless you run for office.

Hey, can I apply for my status now, and get all the retroactive benefits?  It turns out that I don’t mind at all being paid extra for stuff that I’ve already earned on my own merits.

PS: Elizabeth Warren wants all you palefaces to know that it’s sexist to bring up her Cherokee ancestry[*].  Don’t try to think too hard about that: it’ll just give you a headache.

[*I had it pointed out to me in comments that the original Boston Herald link wasn’t the right Boston Herald link, which it was not; fortunately, Hot Air saved me about twenty minutes of searching for it (heck, that’s probably where I saw it first).  My bad, link fixed, and if you want to take HA’s position that this…

Once again, the qualifications and ability of a woman are being called into question by Scott Brown who did the same thing with the Supreme Court nomination of Elena Kagan. It’s outrageous.”

…is Warren saying that it’s sexist to bring up her claims of Cherokee ancestry that’s fine; that’s probably a more nuanced take anyway.]
