I quite liked Sleepy Hollow, actually: Tim Burton’s always interesting, even if he’s sometimes a little uneven, and the movie had nice sensibilities to it. Also, Christopher Walken. Besides, it’s October, so maybe it’s time to do a little of the horror genre for these things.
And so, adieu to Iron Man 2. Which had been up there for a while, really.

What? It’s not like Iron Man 2 sucked, or anything: Black Widow was extraneous, sure, but what the heck. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of the good, and all that.
Besides, I need to get Strange Brew
…It Did Not Suck. Pretty good, in fact: not the Crystallized Awesome that was the first film, but the Stark/Pepper dynamic was still there – and (call me a heretic) I liked Cheadle better as Rhodie. More heroic engineering, and more of the laws of theoretical physics being waved to as they are passed by at high speed. I’m not exactly sure what the heck Black Widow was doing in this one (besides the obvious), and I’m not sure what they plan to do for an encore… but I didn’t mind shelling out regular price for this.
In other news: who the HELL decided that Grown Ups (starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David Spade) deserved to be on the big screen, yet we can’t have a sequel to Serenity
The general consensus seems to be the “Well. Good, but…” that I was sort of expecting, almost dreading: it’s hard to beat crystallized awesome
