‘If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you.’ – Ted Cruz.

It would have been the easiest thing in the world for Senator Ted Cruz (R, Texas) to ignore the fact that the “In Defense of Christians” summit dinner that he was speaking tonight at had far too many people involved with it who, as the Washington Free Beacon notes, “includes some of the Assad regime’s most vocal Christian supporters, as well as religious leaders allied with the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah.” But he did not. Instead, he told those folks the truth:

Those who hate Israel hate America,” he continued, as the boos and calls for him to leave the stage got louder. “Those who hate Jews hate Christians. If those in this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps. If you hate the Jewish people you are not reflecting the teachings of Christ. And the very same people who persecute and murder Christians right now, who crucify Christians, who behead children, are the very same people who target Jews for their faith, for the same reason.”

“If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews,” he said. “Then I will not stand with you. Good night, and God bless.” And with that, he walked off the stage.

One hopes that the viciously-beaten George Galloway is now asking himself, “Why do they hate me?”

Of course, one cannot condone violence.

:pause:

But

Outspoken MP George Galloway has left hospital with severe bruising after he was punched repeatedly in the face and called ‘Hitler’ in a west London street attack, says spokesman.

The Respect MP for Bradford West was posing for pictures in Notting Hill when he was ‘leapt on’ and assaulted last night by a man yelling comments about the Holocaust.

He has been receiving death threats and hate mail after calling for Bradford to be ‘declared an Israel-free zone’ three weeks ago, according to his spokesman.

…I keep getting told that these incidents do not happen in a vacuum.

‘Missile defense will never work,’ they said.

It’s a technological pipe dream, they said.

Ronald Reagan was senile for even pushing ‘Star Wars, they said.

A new video posted today on a pro-Israel, anti-Hamas YouTube channel called ‘Sin’ purports to show the Iron Dome, Israel’s short-range missile defense system, simultaneously intercepting 15 separate Qassam rockets.

Even if it did work it’d just destabilize the situation, they said. Continue reading ‘Missile defense will never work,’ they said.

Bad timing: Hillary Clinton book bragged about Hamas/Israeli ceasefire.

Although, to be fair: it did manage to last past Clinton book’s publication date.

…So, given that Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State was a Mega-big Bucket Of Maximum Fail, what else does she have to bring to the table?

Tel Aviv antiwar rally prematurely ended by resumption of Hamas rocket attacks.

You can’t make stuff like this up.

Several thousand left-wing activists gathered in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square on Saturday evening, calling for an end to bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and a return to negotiations with the Palestinians.

So, yeah, how did that go?

The demonstrations were cut short when Hamas unilaterally ended a humanitarian truce with Israel and resumed rocket-fire from Gaza.

Reminder: Israel has a right to defend itself. And no obligation to be a fool about it, either.

This conversation between Sally Kohn and Guy Benson on the possibly meritorious aspects of violence – specifically, this particular exchange:

Today’s anti-Israel depravity from Vox.

I’ve decided not to put this up at RedState [My colleagues have persuaded me to put this up at RedState: personally, I think that after a certain point you shouldn’t give valuable front-page space to attacking hate sites, but the aforementioned colleagues were pretty vehement that I should do so in this case] I’m pretty close to writing Vox off as an openly anti-Semitic website, and we don’t give those things any traffic. Still… dear God but this article reeks: “Yes, Gaza militants hide rockets in schools, but Israel doesn’t have to bomb them.

…I submit to all of you that when the first half of your headline concedes that one side is committing war crimes (a phrase that does not appear anywhere in that article), the second half of your headline should not try to find balance. There is no ‘balance.’ PJ Tatler summed it up pretty starkly: ‘Hiding weapons of war in schools is a war crime, straight up. Targeting civilians intentionally, as Hamas does, is also a war crime.’ If ordinary Palestinians don’t want to get bombed in retaliation for these war crimes, then I suggest that they start shooting on sight the malignant sons-of-bitches in Hamas who keep using them as human shields. Because that’s the only way this is going to end: Hamas cannot survive in Palestine without the good will of the Palestinians. Continue reading Today’s anti-Israel depravity from Vox.

So, Hamas tried to irradiate Israel today.

They were aiming their rockets at Israel’s nuclear power plant:

Three rockets were launched at Dimona in southern Israel on Wednesday afternoon. The Iron Dome intercepted one rocket before it could land, while two other rockets landed in open areas.

Dimona is the location of Israel’s nuclear reactor. There was no indication that rockets damaged any part of the reactor.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the rockets, stating that it had been attempting to hit the nuclear reactor.

Please note that nuclear radiation doesn’t give two [expletive deleted] whether you’re a Jew, a Muslim, or a Methodist. Please also note that anybody who has picked Hamas’s side in this conflict* has picked the wrong God-damned side**.  I like to remind people about this from time to time.  Saves time all around if folks immediately get just how much I despise the antiwar movement… Continue reading So, Hamas tried to irradiate Israel today.

Israel inching towards recognizing Kurdistan, whether the White House likes it or not.

An independent Kurdish state is becoming more likely to happen all the time.

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has voiced support for Kurdish statehood, taking a position that appears to clash with the US preference to keep sectarian war-torn Iraq united.

Pointing to the mayhem in Iraq, Netanyahu on Sunday called for the establishment of an independent Kurdistan as part of a broader alliance with moderate forces across the region…

I hope that the White House is prepared for the possibility. Because if it happens, it will happen fast.
