The second shot is *hammering* me today.

It really is a lot worse when you get the second shot. Fatigue, my arm hurts, and I think I may be running an actual fever?

On the other hand, I woke up this morning saying Wait! Morgan Barod needs to kill a monster made of slime and human vertebrae! Which is correct: he did, and it fixed a chapter nicely, I think. So yay, vaccine-induced fevers.

Moderna [vaccine] approved by FDA.

Second one out, and already starting to be distributed:

 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the second COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in the United States.

The FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization for the coronavirus vaccine produced by Moderna for ages 18 years of age or older.

The Moderna vaccine can be safely refrigerated (the Pfizer vaccine needs a very cold freezer), which will be handy. It does have slightly worse side effects in some people than the Pfizer vaccine does, although not particularly severe ones. Everybody involved should be congratulated for their yeoman work. Well done!

Pfizer finishes Phase 3, reports Covid vaccine 95% effective.

Excellent news.

A leading coronavirus vaccine candidate developed by Pfizer and BioNTech will be submitted for regulatory approval “within days,” the companies announced Wednesday, after their final analysis suggested the drug was even more effective than previously thought.

The U.S. pharma giant and its German partner said their Phase 3 trial was now complete and that it found the vaccine was 95 percent effective at preventing symptomatic Covid-19 — up from the 90 percent announced last week.
