Ah, yes. “Pink slime.”

Trust me: you don’t really want to read up on what’s in our food.  I mean, it’s not like the bad days of… well, most of recorded history, really.  The organic food people don’t like to hear this, but our current system of food safety is there for a reason, and a lot of the objections to that system are in my opinion frankly visceral*.  So I can shrug off the fillers, preservatives, genetic modifications, and general better living through chemistry that’s going on behind the scenes.
