Unfinished poem (#nationalpoetryday): ‘Prince.’

I got the first verse out right away, and then the inspiration just sort of stopped. Maybe it was the choice of song for filking.  Still, dammit, “Ziggy Stardust” just worked.  Anyway:

Prince, he played guitar
Jamming tight, yet willy-nilly
In the clubs and the bars;
He played to command
Knew he was the star
Became the Symbol Man
And we were Prince’s fans…

This year.  This goram year.

Damn, forgot a deadline.

And then I got distracted by this. First verse was easy. The following ones will be harder.

Prince, he played guitar
Jamming tight, yet willy-nilly
In the clubs and the bars;
He played to command,
Knew he was the star –
Became the Symbol Man
And we were Prince’s fans.
