Tokyo Lair finally coming in next @SecretWorldLgds update?

That’s what they’re claiming. Supposedly it’s all scheduled for October 11th: Orochi Tower, endgame, lair, wrist signets. Kaiden dungeons will not be showing up in Secret World Legends in the next update, or in fact this year. Still, a Lair in Tokyo is going to be the first no-fooling new content in this game that we’re going to see, so having that show up in two weeks will be pretty sweet. Busy for the rest of the week.

Got something going on this week — nothing to do with me directly, and nothing bad, but I can’t talk about it — and the preparations for that are ongoing, and involve a lot of driving.  Also, the Kaidan Docks finally dropped for Secret World Legends, and it turns out that there are a couple of missions I apparently didn’t do in The Secret World!  Shocking.  Also, very Jungian.  No, literally, one adventure required me to go into the Jungian subconscious and tell the game whether my character had parents who loved her.  My answer to that, and other questions, turned out to make a difference in the final boss battle.

Because that’s the kind of game that Secret World Legends is.

Second Tokyo board drops this week on Secret World Legends.

Also, stage two of any vanity transfers from your old The Secret World account to the new Secret World Legends account.  So, basically, go into your old account, buy every pet and hat you can find, and generally drain your account of various currencies.  Then go transfer it over, and voila! – You get a bunch of your old cosmetics back.

…Yeah, I know that this isn’t really interesting to people who read me and who don’t play SWL, but it’s the second-most exciting thing that’s going to happen around here this week*.  Anyway, they’re going to be putting up the Tokyo Docks this week, and there’s a bunch of changes involved.  It’s promising to be very exciting, although I don’t think that we’re quite at the point where we’re getting the Tokyo dungeons back; I guess those and the Tokyo Lair is going to be bundled up with the Orochi Tower later. New York Raid dropped today in Secret World Legends…

…if you play, and you haven’t gotten around to getting online for it yet, be warned: you need to pick up the mission in the central hub, go talk to the crazy conspiracy theory blogger in Brooklyn, and go to the grate before you try to group and/or queue it. Also: do yourself a favor and do the easier Story mode, but take it seriously.  You’re going to absolutely need two tanks and two healers, because… I dunno why about the tanks, because I don’t meatshield, but the tanks kept saying that they needed to keep switching off and I assume that there were reasons for that. As for healers, you’ll need two because one ain’t enough to keep everybody alive. And stay in close.  I managed to wipe three times running just by getting out too far.

PS: But we killed the so-and-so.

Secret World Legends Devstream up.

Found here. Biggest news: the New York Raid is coming back next week.  It will have Story Mode, which means that a regular team can tackle it.  But we’re all gonna raid it anyway.  Also, mega-boss raids soon.  Secret World Legends is making these cabal-friendly, so if you belong to a cabal* already (like, say, League of Monster Slayers) you’ll be at an advantage to get in on these.

PS: They’re bringing back Tank Guy. I missed Tank Guy. He was cool.

*Basically, what other MMOs call ‘guilds.’

FunCom suspends players who bought stolen Secret World Legends currency.

Well, I guess it’s an indication that Secret World Legends is succeeding: gold farming is alive and well. From Facebook:

Over this past weekend, our systems identified a number of accounts that were involved in purchasing Marks of Favour from third-party sites. These accounts are now suspended, and we will continue taking action against similar accounts moving forward.

Please be aware that we are taking a no-tolerance approach to this matter. Currency that these third-party sellers offer comes from purchases made with stolen payment information. This is the case for nearly every instance of this we’ve come across, and this is considered fraud.

Secret World Legends *may* be coming to TV.

Emphasis on ‘may.’ The television landscaped is littered with the bleached corpses of TV concepts.  Still:

We are excited to share the news that Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and G4C Innovation’s Gudrun Giddings have partnered to produce The Secret World, a TV series based on The Secret World and Secret World Legends! The TV series is based on the universe of the Secret World IP and centers on a team of undercover agents and the shadowy war between secret societies, the Illuminati, Dragon and the Templar. Central to the plot is the battle against the supernatural in an adventure that spans across our world, multiple dimensions, and incorporates the realms of ancient myths and legends as well as today’s conspiracy theories and headline news.

The pilot was written by James V. Hart (HookDraculaContact) and Jake Hart. Johnny Depp, Christi Dembrowski, Sam Sarkar and Gudrun Giddings will produce together with Showrunner Pam Veasey. (CSI-NY). CAA (Creative Artists Agency) is packaging.

…very cool, if it happens.  Also guarantees new content, which would be even cooler. And thank God for Conan Exiles, hey?

Secret World Legends’ Steam Launch today, Whispering Tide Event starts tomorrow.

If you have Steam, Secret World Legends is integrated into it. However, if you already have an existing Patron account for Secret World Legends, don’t link it yet.  They’re having integration issues tonight.

As for Whispering Tide: I’ve been looking forward to doing this one for a while.  When I started playing The Secret World, they had just begun to wrap up that particular event, and I missed it.  I’ve wanted to play it ever since.  Gonna be fun!

Secret World Legends comes to Steam on 07/31/2017.

Secret World Legends is free-to-play, but you’ll want to subscribe. You’ll be able to play and win the game without spending a dime, mind you – but having a monthly membership gives enough benefits to be worth it, assuming of course that you like conspiracy-horror shared game with fiendishly complicated investigation missions and a cheerful willingness to throw everything into the mix.  And I do mean everything.

Here is the SWL fact sheet for navigating the Steam launch.  You may want to take a look at it.  The process might be a little… complicated.
