House Democrats trade trying to take VA-10 for trying to keep CA-07.

Somehow, I don’t think that this fits the existing media narrative of a Democratic party ready to use its compelling financial advantage to stop the GOP in its tracks.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has canceled its television advertising in a competitive northern Virginia House district and will shift most of that money to help an incumbent in northern California, according to a Democrat who monitors media buys.

The sum of the DCCC’s cancellation in Virginia’s 10th District was $2.8 million, according to the source. Democrats were on the offensive in the open-seat race to replace retiring Rep. Frank R. Wolf, R-Va.

They’ll be moving the money to try to keep freshman Congressman Ami Bera in office… and they’re still being outspent: three outside groups are pumping $3 million into this particular race, and the Democrats aren’t happy about it.  They’re also not too happy with their own donors; something about how those donors’ “focus appears centered far more on saving the Senate majority.”  Which is even funnier, really, given the way the Senate looks these days.

PS: Guess ‘California is forever lost to the GOP’ is another one of those existing media narratives, huh?

You will be SHOCKED by what John Foust (D CAND, Virginia-10) said about his own voters!

Well, you won’t be shocked, probably. And I am sorry for that.  It would be nice if there was still some innocence left in the world.

But let’s not get maudlin.  Background: Barbara Comstock, Republican candidate for VA-10, is of the (accurate) opinion that her opponent John Foust is a male chauvinist pig:

Virginia Republican congressional candidate Barbara Comstock is out with a hard-hitting TV ad labeling her Democratic opponent John Foust a “sexist.”

“Trash-talking politics from John Foust. Foust wages a desperate, dishonest and negative campaign against Barbara Comstock,” says the ad released Thursday. “Foust’s attacks — ‘sexist,’ ‘bizarre,’ ‘insensitive,’ ‘ignorant.’ Don’t be fooled by Foust.”

Here’s the ad: Continue reading You will be SHOCKED by what John Foust (D CAND, Virginia-10) said about his own voters!

John Foust (D-CAND, Virginia-10): yet another Democrat who sneers at stay-at-home parents.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am getting highly sick and tired of elitist snobs like John Foust and their arrogant attempts to trivialize people.

Republicans called Democrat John W. Foust an insensitive sexist after he questioned whether his opponent in the race to succeed Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), a woman who has been a congressional aide, lobbyist and Justice Department spokeswoman, had “even had a real job.”

Foust, a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors running in Northern Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, was trying to cast himself as more in touch with the needs of working Virginians when he questioned Republican state Del. Barbara J. Comstock’s commitment to creating jobs at a campaign event Thursday evening in Leesburg.

…What the Washington Post didn’t particularly highlight in their article, of course, is that Barbara Comstock left the workforce to raise her kids – and let me be blunt: if you don’t think that being a stay-at-home parent isn’t a ‘real’ job, do the rest of the human race a favor and do not procreate. You will not be successful at being a parent with that attit… hold on, please. Continue reading John Foust (D-CAND, Virginia-10): yet another Democrat who sneers at stay-at-home parents.

John Foust (D CAND, Virginia-10) wants to force Medicaid on everybody… except his wife’s medical practice.

Ach, the hypocrisy of the world!

The OBGYN practice of Marilyn Jerome, the wife of Democratic congressional candidate John Foust, does not accept Medicaid, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

What’s that that I hear you cry? “What’s the big deal?” Well…

Foust has repeatedly attacked his Republican opponent Barbara Comstock for opposing the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act in his campaign to represent Virginia’s 10th district.
