Either Suicide Squad or Star Trek today…

…haven’t decided yet, although I suspect that Suicide Squad might be ahead on points. Also, either the Home Depot (I need childproofing stuff and maybe some twine) or the Asian market afterward. I haven’t decided THAT yet, either. Alas, the vacation is getting compressed because my kids will be coming back from their Nana’s four days early; fortunately, all the really hard craft projects were already done. The rest can be spaced out between now and Tuesday.

Vacation and regular posting starts tomorrow.

I know that that’s not how it usually goes, but: there’s only so many hours a day I can spend catching up on my television watching. I have to do something creative and goodness knows I’ll have the time for that. It’s gonna be interesting, no?

Welp, we’re back.

Now it’s just a matter of getting my wife packed for Pennsic. And then… oh, dear. I will be stuck all alone in the house for maybe a week. This hasn’t happened in a very, very long time. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to function under those conditions…

Fun day today.

Two concerts – sea shanties and 18th century Baroque – an interconnected museum tour, a carriage ride, and of course rum punches and the like. Nice to have a day that’s not particularly run-around-and-do-this, you know? My wife and I needed the break.

And now I’m going to zonk out. Because, hey, rum punches.

Today will be a day of art and air conditioning.

There are any number of museums here which the wife and I have not seen, largely because we have children and getting kids through boring museums is often a dark art itself.  Also, and perhaps much more importantly: IT IS GORAM HOT HERE.  Worse, the humidity is at the point where air spirits are simply walking around and drenching random people with water in order to make quota. Seriously, it’s gotten to the point where I want to sprinkle salt and maybe some lemon pepper on the air, the better to help with the air’s mouth feel.

PS: Everything’s fine and we’re having a good time. Not least because we’re being smart about this vacation. Like doing cultural stuff in places with HVAC.

…My, that was a fascinatingly smoky mead.

It had hops. And a ridiculously high alcohol content.  I’ll be going to bed now, thanks.

PS: Vacation is going just fine, yes. Although I have yet to have a rum punch. Soon. Soon.

My Patreon short-short-short story: ‘Vacation.’

Heh. ‘Vacation‘ merely happened to be on the rotation, just as I’m about to take one. But I’ve always thought that the larger point is valid. People do stuff that ostensibly doesn’t suit them all the time.

As always, my Patreon is here.  And monthly stuff drops tonight!  Woo-hoo! Or at least woo.

Still on vacation…

…went easier today. You gotta just break the day down into smaller units, and then win those units. It also doesn’t hurt if you dose your kids with children’s allergy medicine once you realize that the pollen count is through the roof…

The vacation is… well.

Nobody’s injured, nobody’s dead. The kids are currently quiet. I’m sure that tomorrow is another day.
