First checkpoint in the “Why Lie? I just want an Xbox” pledge drive reacheed!

Well, I guess that it all now starts becoming a question of trade-offs.

Kinect/no Kinect? Do I get the 250 GB before the Kinect, or can I squeak by on 4 GB? What accessories should I be buying? Heck, what GAMES should I be buying? …And, of course: thank you, for everybody who has participated, or is planning to. It means a lot.

…Oh, yeah. I was doing a pledge drive.

As you can see, it is coming along:

I’m about halfway to an Xbox, 1/3rd of the way to one with this Kinect thingy to it, and a quarter of the way to one that has an exceedingly high number associated with it that I am not entirely certain is actually necessary in any meaningful fashion but it impresses me when I see a reminder that computer TLs have gone from 7 to 8 in my lifetime.

:flipping through book:

Huh. That line still works in 4E. How refreshing.

Scenes from my “Why lie? I just want an Xbox” pledge drive.

I always appreciate it when people demonstrate how infuriated I make them.

That’s from this post, where I quoted the following:

The president then ha[d] more trouble dialing. When the call didn’t go through, he blamed Mr. Nicholson for having an insufficient cell phone plan.

So nice to see that I have such an impact on other people’s lives, isn’t it?  Here’s the donation button, again:

Hrm. Maybe I should put up one of those thermometer graphics.

Buy A PC, get an xBox! …For COLLEGE?

Apparently so.  Goodness gracious - now there’s a phrase you probably don’t often see on Tumblr - but that just says everything about modern education, right there. Look, if you want to buy an Xbox, go ahead (no, seriously, go right ahead, click that link, and buy one).  Heck, if you want to buy me an Xbox, go right ahead.  But let’s not pretend that doing one will be a net positive for your grades, ‘kay?

Ah, First World Problems.

I’m at a bit of an impasse, here.  I have sucked out all the juices possible for Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic 2.  I’ve long since gotten everything that I was going to get out of Dragon Age 2; I’m now just waiting for the next DLC. Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition is months away.  Right now, I have two choices: try to get back into Assassin’s Creed 2, or else fire up Deus Ex: Human Revolution.  The problem with the former is that I probably really do need to pick up something like Xbox 360 Controller if I want to play the game; the problem with the latter is that I had it reserved for January or February, when the ME3 shakes would start really getting bad.

Anybody got an opinion? – You don’t have to have one, by the way.  As I said, this is a First World problem.  I should just be grateful that I have access to clean water, food, and clothing.

Fine. Since I apparently need to have…

…one of these Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows in order to play Assassin’s Creed 2, I’ve added it to the Wish List.

I hope that you’re all happy now.

PS: Seriously, though: what am I supposed to do with the blessed thing?  I don’t play that many shooters and I don’t expect that I’ll be playing Assassin’s Creed 2 again after I complete it, assuming that I do.  I don’t know if there is any point to playing it again, in fact.
