Spokesman: Barack Obama against reviving ‘Fairness Doctrine.’

Via Glenn, it sounds very declarative:

“As the president stated during the campaign, he does not believe the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated,” White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said.

But then, so did his stand against FISA.
And for public financing of elections.
And against the war in Iraq.
And for transparency in lawmaking.
And against torture.

I can keep going, but you get the drift. There is what we’d call a history, here.

  1. He’s against the Fairness Doctrine. What he wants is hope-powered microsurgical robolaser to break up these evil media conglomerates that control the way Americans think. You know, like the ones paying your salary and mine.

    – pause –

The need for that should be clear enough.

  2. I personally don’t believe Obama. He’s going to sneak it in just like he got that Spendulus through without anyone knowing what they were doing. With all the bad press he’s gotten in the first weeks, the last thing he wants is for Rush, Hannity and every conservative blog out there to light up.
